The 5A 12V Overcurrent Protection AC Current Detection Sensor Module is designed to provide overcurrent protection by detecting AC signals using a current transformer and activating a relay signal output when an overcurrent in the range of 0-5A is detected. The relay engages when there is an overcurrent and disengages when there is no overcurrent, allowing the user to control the on and off of the external circuit for overcurrent protection.

  Features:

  • Uses a plug-in LM2596 external heat sink for high current operation.
  • Input end includes a 4A rectifier bridge stack for AC power input and a dedicated DC input port for common AC and DC input.
  • Output voltage is adjustable from 3.3V to 30V.

  Specifications:

  • Operating voltage: DC12V
  • Operating current: <20MA
  • Input Voltage: AC 5V-22V/DC 5V-35V
  • Output Voltage: DC 3.3V-30V
  • Output Current: 2.5A
  • Output Power: 35W(Max)
  • Operating frequency range: 20Hz ~ 400Hz
  • Output mode: Switch signal output
  • Maximum detection wire diameter: 5.2mm
  • Operating environment: -40 ~ +85 DegC
  • Current detection range: AC0.3A-5A
  • Dimensions (LxWxH)mm: 44 x 38 x 35
  • Weight: 22g

  Functions:

  • Current detection resolution can be changed by adjusting resistance parameters.
  • Provides over-current switching signal output.
  • The over-current signal setting critical point is adjustable.

  Using Instructions:

  • Set the potentiometer to adjust the overcurrent protection point, clockwise adjustment reduces the detection current.
  • Connect the wire to be measured through the current transformer and connect VCC and GND to the DC12V power supply.
  • Adjust the potentiometer until you hear the sound of the relay pulling (check with a multimeter COM and NO whether it is turned on).
  • Reduce or cut off the current flowing through the wire to identify the over-current protection point.
  • If the relay releases, the over-current protection point has been identified.
  • If the relay does not release, continue to adjust the potentiometer to find the over-current protection point.

  Connection Interface:

  • VCC: Working voltage positive
  • GND: Working voltage negative
  • ON: Normally open, relay is closed
  • COM: Common terminal of relay
  • NC: Normally closed, relay is open

  Package Includes:

  • 1 x 5A 12V Overcurrent Protection AC Current Detection Sensor Module
