The Auto Calibrating Colour Line Sensor LSA08 Cytron is an advanced line following sensor bar that consists of 8 sensor pairs, spaced 16mm apart. It is typically used in embedded systems or robots for line following tasks. The sensor's specially selected wavelength of super bright green LED as the transmitter enables it to operate on various different colored surfaces, including red, green, blue, white, black, gray, and possibly other colors with distinct brightness differences.
The LSA08 offers several different output modes for ease of use in any system, including a digital output port (8 parallel output lines), a serial communication port (UART), and an analog output port. It also features an LCD display unit showing 8 sensors' analog values with a bar chart and line position, making it easier to monitor and calibrate.
