  Working Principle:  

  • The LED emits light through the finger, and the phototransistor on the other side detects the light that passes through.
  • When the blood pressure pulse causes changes in the finger's resistance, the phototransistor's resistance also changes.
  • This change in resistance is detected as a varying signal, which can be interpreted as a heartbeat.
