The MPU-6050 QFN-24 3-Axis Gyro/Accelerometer IC is a sophisticated motion processing IC that combines a MEMS 3-axis gyroscope and a 3-axis accelerometer on the same silicon die, along with an onboard Digital Motion Processor„¢ (DMP„¢). This combination allows for complex 9-axis MotionFusion algorithms, eliminating cross-axis alignment problems that can occur with discrete parts.

  • User-programmable digital filters for gyroscope, accelerometer, and temperature sensor
  • Digital-output temperature sensor
  • Auxiliary master I2C bus for reading data from external sensors
  • Minimal cross-axis sensitivity between the accelerometer and gyroscope axes
  • MEMS structure is hermetically sealed and bonded at the wafer level
  • 400 kHz fast mode I2C for communicating with all registers
  • Tri-Axis angular rate sensor (gyro) with a sensitivity of up to 131 LSBs/dps and a full-scale range of ±250, ±500, ±1000, and ±2000dps
  • Tri-Axis accelerometer with a programmable full-scale range of ±2g, ±4g, ±8g, and ±16g
  • Reduced settling effects and sensor drift by eliminating board-level cross-axis alignment errors
  • 9-Axis Digital Motion Processing (DMP) engine for MotionFusion, sensor timing synchronization, and gesture detection
  • Embedded algorithms for run-time bias and compass calibration with no user intervention required
  • Programmable interrupt supports various functions like gesture recognition, panning, zooming, scrolling, free fall interrupt, high-G interrupt, zero-motion detection, tap detection, and shake detection
