The WCS2705 is a Hall Effect based linear current sensor designed for applications requiring precise current sensing up to 5A. It features a precise, low-temperature drift linear hall sensor IC with a temperature compensation circuit and a current path with an extremely low 8.3mOhm internal conductor resistance. This low resistance reduces power loss and operating temperature while increasing reliability.

The sensor operates by detecting the magnetic field generated by the current flowing through its conduction path and converting it into a proportional voltage. The terminals of the conductive path are electrically isolated from the sensor leads, allowing the WCS2705 to be used in applications requiring electrical isolation without the need for opto isolators or other costly isolation techniques.
